From the desk of Chairman...

I thank Allah Almighty for informing you all that I am a student of the first batch of HMS Unani Medical College and Hospital, and today, Allah has chosen me to be the Chairman of the same college. This statement is a testament to the fact that the foundation of my success lies in this institution. The success of this institution is a testament to the sincerity and hard work of the former Chairman, my dear respected Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan, and the result of the tireless efforts and dedication of our beloved Principal, Professor Dr. Zakir Hussain, who has held this position for the past two decades.

My family has been associated with the Unani system of medicine for centuries, and it is by the grace of my ancestors that I am sharing this message today. My writings, including "Kitab al-Saydalah," which is an encyclopedia of Unani pharmacy, have had two editions published. Additionally, a book on bone treatment titled "Taqweem al-Aza" has also been published, with its second volume set to be released soon. Simla Pharmacy is a unique company in Unani medicine manufacturing. Besides this, I am associated with several medical associations in India. This message is not about self-praise but rather a reflection of the institution’s performance.

Just as this institution has been successfully progressing for 22 years, I will also strive to make its name renowned at the national level. I aim for the students who graduate from here to succeed and shine in all fields of medicine.

​

In conclusion, I hope that the students graduating from our institution will remain dedicated to their profession because Allah has granted eminence to two types of knowledge: the knowledge of religion and the knowledge of medicine. They should remain obedient to their parents, respectful to their teachers, compassionate towards patients, loving to friends and family, and kind to children. They should always fear Allah Almighty and incorporate the ways of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the Ahl al-Bayt, the Companions, and the noble saints into their lives, thus becoming hopeful for intercession in this world and the hereafter.
