Overview
The Second Professional B.U.M.S. focuses on advanced medical subjects such as Pharmacology, Pathology, and Unani Pharmacy. It enhances students' clinical knowledge and practical exposure, preparing them for further specialization in Unani Medicine.

Total Duration: 18 months (1.5 years)
Total Working Days: 320 days
Total Teaching Hours: 2240 hours
Clinical Training: Minimum 1 hour per day

The Second Professional B.U.M.S. includes six main subjects along with electives.

3. Examination & Evaluation System
The examination for Second Professional B.U.M.S. consists of theory, practical, viva, electives, and internal assessment.

4. Electives
Students must complete three elective subjects from the available sets (SA, SB, SC).
Total Duration: 45 hours per elective
Components:25 hours – Teaching (Videos, PPTs, Study Materials)
10 hours – Guided Learning
5 hours – Expert Interaction & Reflection
5 hours – Assessment (5 Tests of 1 hour each)Grading System:Bronze: Below 25%

Platinum: 76% & AboveWeightage: Elective marks are added to viva-voce marks.
5. Clinical Training & Practical Exposure
Clinical training starts from the Second Professional year.
Students engage in case-taking, patient management, Unani diagnostics, and laboratory work.
Special focus on practical applications in Pharmacology, Pathology, and Unani Pharmacy.
One hour of clinical exposure per day in OPD, IPD, and Pharmacy settings.
6. Attendance Criteria
Minimum 75% attendance is required in both theory and practical components to appear for exams.
Students with attendance shortages must repeat the classes.
7. Promotion & Supplementary Exams
Students failing in 1 or 2 subjects can continue to the Third Professional B.U.M.S. but must clear backlogs.
Students failing in more than 2 subjects must repeat the Second Professional session.
Supplementary exams are conducted every six months.
